Launching the ACS NPCRT

September 4-5, 2024
Grand Hyatt Hotel
Washington, D.C.

The American Cancer Society National Prostate Cancer Roundtable (ACS NPCRT) is set to officially launch on September 5th in Washington, D.C, marking a pivotal moment in the fight against prostate cancer. ACS NPCRT is a national coalition of members organizations established to address the alarming rise in prostate cancer diagnoses, with a particular focus on Black men, who face disproportionate rates of incidence and mortality in the US. The launch will bring together over 70 partners to discuss the strategic priorities defined by the 2023 ACS Prostate Cancer Collaborative, explore major questions in prostate cancer, and chart a path forward to catalyze collective action.

Key highlights of the event include comments from ACS NPCRT Chair William Oh, MD, Vice-Chair Yaw Nyame, MD, MS, MBA, and ACS Chair William Dahut, MD. The event program will also feature a scientific presentation from Lorelei Mucci, ScD, MPH. Other special guests include Dr. Artie Shelton, prostate cancer survivor and PHEN Ambassador, Mack Brown, ACS Sports Ambassador and Former NFL Runningback, and Chef Daniel Thomas, former Head Chef for the United States Senate Executive Dining Room and the Head Banquet & Catering Chef for the United States Capitol.

The ACS roundtables are a recommended and proven model for creating sustained partnerships across diverse sectors and communities to collaboratively address the most complex problems across the cancer continuum. ACS provides organizational leadership and expertise to support the roundtables and their members in their efforts to further a shared vision of giving all people an equal opportunity to prevent and survive cancer. Learn more at cancer.org/roundtables.
